O'Mama ends freedom of Speech
"This is worst that Nationalized medicine,"said one man just before he was locked up for subversive speech.
Many people, including myself, fear for our lives in the current national climate. The freedoms that we all once took for granted have been robbed from us by this new legislation. Some even ask themselves if the cost of the government is worth the benefits.
"Is the cost of the government worth the benefits," asked one man just before he was locked up for subversive questioning of the government.
The Persident issued this statement in responce to the rise in the American prison population. "If only they would all behave, we wouldn't have these problems. People have to pay the price for their unwillingness to follow the rules I created."
"As a former mama supporter, I fully supported the persident's call to action when he said we all have to give up some to make the rest happier with their lives. I even understood the legislation that allowed the police to randomly search for drugs in people's medicine cabinets. But this new legistlation has gone too far...", written just before I was locked up for subversive writing against the government.

Time's last Laugh
But I understand Sir Clock. He knows his place in the order of things. He knows his job is to move until the batteries keeping him going run their course. His job is to wave his hands at the world in such a way as to say, “Keep it up, your doing great. Just a few more minutes and you'll be there. All you've got to do is be persistent.”
Then someone does the silly thing of playing with Time. They change around the clock at their own whim, for their own convenience. Wanting to steal back Time from it's master, they play with his dials two times a year. They pretend all is the same when they wake up t, but Time is not fooled. He and his brother Clock know what's up. They know the score. The sleep lost and the sleep gained will forever be disappearing in the shuffle.
I watch the dance of the clock. I play with the 10 o'clock smile. It will be ok, I mouth in a silent voice. The 8 o'clock frown will never find a place on my face. Just because my mind has been played with by the loss of consistency doesn't mean I've truly lost out on the mystery.
I just hear a thinking Sir Clock.
Tick, Tock. Tick, Tock.

Lessons learned by the Married Man
Yes. I can finally start giving out sagely advice. Finally I am a married man.
O, what wisdom the title of Tallis Wearer brings.
Ok, So I'm a little full of it. I still have not achieved the wisdom of the ages that I expected to get when standing under the chuppah. However, I have gotten close.
Here are some of the wonderful things I have discovered just by wearing the mantle of husband.
It's not all fun and games
Even if she does wash the dishes most of the time, I still have have to dry them before they end up in the cabinet.
There are all sorts of financial things to worry about. Like earning a living(O, the horror.), getting inexpensive car insurance (I know, switch to Gieco and save 15% or more), and paying rent (who knew I couldn't live in my parent's basement forever?).
Long hair in the shower (need I say more?).
A Tallis is Cool.
It's very hot under the Talis. Just imagine an extra layer of wool over your suit and a hood over your head. Then imagine sitting with that on for three hours straight. That is the Tallis experience.
On the other hand, my wonderful wife did get me the coolest Atarah in the world, Five layers of silver links on black velvet. It only works in Young Israel were everyone wears something different. In the garden variety shtieble it stands out like Moses on 13th Ave. Very Cool.
I am less self conscious about my self image.
So long as the one person that counts doesn't mind, it is all good.
This goes for wearing a Tallis that stands out a little to many other little things.
I feel like I can be more of myself, rather than less of myself now that I am married. (Who knows, I hear from everyone else that this is bound to change. Maybe I should give it some more time ;)
When I discover more things I am sure to write another post, making that a part II, until then...
